This is a crunchy caramel/nut candy.
20 minutes to prepare, 2 hours to cool

Melt butter in a pan, and add the sugar, salt, corn syrup. Bring to a boil over medium high heat and boil for three minutes. Put in peanuts. Cook until peanuts stop popping and the mixture is caramel colored.
Remove from heat and add baking soda. Pour mixture immediately onto a large greased cookie sheet. Let it cool before breaking it up into individual pieces.
Store in an airtight container.
Be very careful with the hot sugar mixture. It holds heat much better than water does, can be hotter than boiling water, and sticks to your skin as well.
