One pound of fresh spinach may be substituted for the frozen spinach. Wash the leaves, remove stems, and cook in small amount of water for 10 minutes. Drain.
Thaw and drain spinach. Mix in butter, egg, and spices and place in casserole dish. Top with thin slices of cream cheese.
Bake at 350 deg. F for 45 minutes or until firm.
