Chinese dumplings come in many varieties. This recipe normally uses small pork and green onion or pork and leek dumplings, available frozen from the grocery.

Prepare the dumplings according to the directions (Place frozen dumplings in boiling water. Bring back to a boil and gently boil for ten minutes.)

Mix together the soy sauce, sugar, and red pepper and warm. Remove from heat and add vinegar and sesame oil.

The amount of dried red pepper listed is true to Mary's recipe --- this was marked as HOT on the menu. You might consider starting with 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. of red pepper the first time you make the recipe.

Place the bean sprouts in a bowl. Top with soy sauce mixture, then place dumplings on top. Top with sliced scallions and serve immediately.
