Volunteer State Honors Joe C. Watlington

At his retirement from Volunteer State Community College in December 1988, a JOSEPH C. WATLINGTON ENDOWMENT was established in his honor at the request of his fellow teachers at the school. The income from this fund will be used to provide scholarships to promising student in the areas of mathematics and science at the college. Although this was inititated by his colleagues at the college, donations are welcomed from those who would like to thus honor Joe with a personal giftgif.     The Science Field Station on the grounds at Volunteer State was dedicated Dec. 7, 1990 as the JOSEPH C. WATLINGTON SCIENCE FIELD STATION. This is a project which Joe worked to develop and includes facilities for a seismograph and telescopes.
